MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR BOILER
Most new boilers now come with an array of modes and functions enabling you to tailor your heating and hot water requirements to meet your individual needs. Our cutting-edge range of products are no different. However, after having a new boiler installed many customers settle for the basic functions of a boiler rather than utilising extra modes that can save energy and bring more comfort to your home through improved heating and hot water control.
To help you make the most of your boiler this Winter, we’ve compiled this handy guide to some of the extra modes available on Ariston boilers with Ariston NET Connectivity.
Auto Mode
The AUTO function enables the boiler operation to be adapted to environmental conditions and to the type of system it is installed on. A comfortable temperature is reached inside the room in the quickest way possible, without wasting money, energy or efficiency, while substantially reducing the amount of wear experienced by the components.
In the majority of boilers the temperature inside the heating elements is usually set to a high value (70-80°C), thereby ensuring effective heating during the few really cold winter days. It then becomes excessive on less cold days (of which there are many) more typical of the autumn and winter seasons. This leads to excessive room heating after the thermostat has been switched off, resulting in energy waste and uncomfortable conditions inside the room. The AUTO function “takes control” of the boiler and selects the best operating regime based on environmental conditions, external devices connected to the boiler and the performance required. It constantly decides at which power level to operate based on the environmental conditions and the room temperature required.
Comfort Mode
Comfort mode avoids the waiting time for warm water when you turn a tap or shower on. The secondary heat exchanger, which is the part of the boiler that heats up the domestic hot water, stays switched on longer or all the time (depending on the setting). This mode adds that extra comfort of having immediate warm water available but it does use more energy by keeping the secondary heat exchanger on.
Handy Hint: When the function is enabled the text COMFORT appears on the display
Holiday Mode
If you’re going away then the holiday function can be used to disable heating during your holiday period. Simply switch the mode on and set the date that you are due to return home and the boiler will revert back to your normal settings on the set date. Don’t worry though, Holiday mode does not disable the Anti-Frost function of the boiler which makes sure the pipes don’t freeze up in Winter. As long as there is an active power source to the boiler, the Anti-Frost function will kick in if needed.
Handy Hint: A suitcase icon will show on the control interface when the holiday mode is set.
Smart Connectivity
With the Ariston NET app you can manage your boiler directly from your smartphone and enjoy comfort at your fingertips. And thanks to Ariston NET’s voice control capabilities you can manage your heating and hot water via your Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple HomeKit device. If you haven’t already, then be sure to download the free app and follow the instructions to connect to your boiler. Soon you will be able to program the desired temperature from anywhere, at any time and enjoy coming back to a cosy, warm home this Winter.
Handy Hint: Do you have a holiday home or caravan? Controlling your heating remotely via your smartphone can be especially handy as you can switch the boiler on remotely when you’re on your way and arrive to a warm holiday location!
Smart Scheduling
Thanks to AI and Geo-Fencing functions, Ariston NET is able to learn your usage habits with connected products, offering you tailor-made programming that self-regulates and constantly updates. The Geo-Fencing function sets a virtual perimeter around your home: In this way the app will be able to change the temperature of the home and create a weekly schedule based on where you are. In fact, the app will be able to determine when you are about to return, making sure the heating is on. In return, the heating will be set to lower temperatures when you leave the house, ensuring maximum comfort.
Track Your Consumption via Ariston NET
In addition to the above features, you can also monitor your energy use in detail via the Consumption section of the Ariston NET app. Here you can see an overview of the current month, so your costs will always be under control.
If you want to get a more detailed history of your consumption, you can view full-screen graphs and check your usage for each day, or month, comparing the data with those of the previous year. You can also see how the temperature changes in the house throughout the day in your daily reports.
And, if you want to find out how to save more, without giving up your comfort, every time you connect to the app you will receive a new set of tips. They are all customised according to your needs and behaviours, to ensure the best performance of your product.
Don’t Forget!
Ariston NET is compatible with all of the main voice assistants on the market so you can turn your heating on or off or raise the temperature via your Alexa or Google Home device.
